The Analyst performs functions relating to the various processes of the Unit and monitors an assigned portfolio of licensees and registrants on an off-site basis, as well as participates in riskbased on-site inspections.


The successful candidate will:

• Conduct initial review of applications of entities for authorization under the VASP Act, ensuring thatall requisite requirements have been submitted and the process is within the Unit’s prescribed timelines. Assist with preparing submissions.

• Assist with the monitoring of regulated entities, conducting ongoing maintenance of assigned portfolio to identify material issues and/or deficiencies, taking a risk-based approach to supervision.

• Assists with the reviews and analysis of applications for all sandbox licences with recommendations to the Senior/Chief Analysts for approval or refusal of same.

• Assist the Senior/Chief Analysts with monitoring the activities of sandbox licensees ensuring compliance with sandbox rules/criteria and any imposed conditions.

• Assists with on-site/off-site examinations and ongoing monitoring of regulated entities to assess their compliance with the applicable legislative and supervisory requirements and guidelines.

• Prepare relevant pre and post meeting notes/data for formal regulatory meetings, external andinternal, attend and takes concise minutes in meetings with regulated entities.

• Process applications and assist with preparing submissions for cancellations, change in ownerships,and amendments to the business plan.

• Assist with handling complaints or issues that may arise from customers or stakeholders of regulated entities.

• Assists with the investigations of complex and serious regulatory and non-compliance issues of regulated entities and make recommendations for improvements or escalation for enforcement.

• Assist with responding to queries from regulated entities, other divisions and Overseas Regulatory Authorities.

• Assists in the review and maintenance of supervisory policy and procedure manuals.

• Assists with Unit’s projects to ensure that regulatory and supervisory practices are aligned with relevant international standards and best practices.

• Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly statistics for new registrations and licenses.


• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Computer Science, Mathematics, business administration or Finance related field from an accredited institution; and

• Two (2) years’experience in the securities/virtual assets industry, preferably regulatory experience.

• A professional qualification in fintech, virtual assets, AML/CFT and Compliance or a professional designation such as CPA/CA/CFA/CAIA/CISA would be an asset.

• General knowledge of the Cayman Islands financial services Laws, Regulations, and relevant Rules,Statements of Guidance and Policies including AML/CFT.

• General awareness of domestic and international financial and economic events as it relates tovirtual assets services.

• Sound writing, communication and presentation skills.

• Good organisation and time management skills.

• The ability to pay attention to details and critically analyse information.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
