Business Analyst


Reporting to the Project Manager – Technology or Operations, the Business Analyst is responsible for providing support to the planning and implementation of CIMA’s projects relating to technology, supervision/regulation, and operations. This includes working with divisions to gather information on business needs, document current workflows, and analyze gaps and developing project business cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:
• Provide support to the Project managers and Head of the Division in business needs assessments. For this purpose, the position holder will:
o Collaborate with divisions to determine business needs;
o Document existing processes and create process flows; and
o Analyses gaps between business needs and existing processes.
• Document requirements and prepare project business case taking into consideration associated risks for possible solutions evaluation;
• Assist the relevant Project Manager with planning and implementing projects and project management strategies;
• Assist with monitoring implementation of projects and change management programmes, verifies that they achieve stated objectives and expectations of quality;
• Ensure adherence to project management policies and procedures;
• Conducts research and analysis as necessary for the efficient project planning, execution and problem resolution;
• Assist with managing vendor and consultant relationships and contract milestones, and budgets;
• Proactively identifies and works with related stakeholders to remedy project implementation problems;
• Manages project documentation, including preparing meeting minutes, preparing project progress reports, and process documentation;
• Supervises a team of Junior Business Analysts in the PMO;
• Acts as a positive ambassador at conferences, meetings and events and presents information, brings back ideas, and makes recommendations to improve the Project governance and management framework; and
• Assists project managers in preparing communication plans and coordinates communications relating to projects assigned for CIMA stakeholders.

 REQUIREMENTS:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information System, Project Management, Business administration or similar area.
• Five (5) years of relevant experience in project management at the professional level in the technology and information systems field or in supervision/operations.
• A Project Management Professional certification is required.
• Experience from within a regulatory environment, risk or strategy management would be a definite asset.
• Sound knowledge of and experience with project management best practices, including project management strategies and processes;
• Knowledge of information technology security and governance frameworks, information systems process documentation and workflows, or information systems acquisition, user acceptance testing, and rollout;
• Understanding of risks and risk management;
• Effective organizational skills, detail oriented and the ability to manage priorities;
• Ability to analyse large and or complex data and make decisions based on the data analysis;
• Proficiency in project management software applications and all Microsoft Office’s standard applications - in particular, Excel, PowerPoint as well as visual graphics creation.
