Accounts Officer – Payments


Reporting to Accounts Manager, the Accounts Officer is responsible for processing accounts payable and payroll in accordance with the Division’s policies and internal control procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations of the Division and CIMA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:

  • Accurately post invoices into the Accounts Payable system, and prepare cheques or requests for wire transfers/EFT’s/drafts to ensure timely payments;
  • Issue travel advances, process all staff travel claims/reimbursements and maintain/update detailed reports of staff travel to ensure the expenses are within CIMA’s budget;
  • Assist with the management of employee’s receivables;
  • Prepare accurate journals and maintain supporting schedules in relation to staff travel and other payments;
  • Respond promptly to queries from staff, internal divisions, banks, vendors and Government agencies, in a courteous and professional manner at all times;
  • Prepare all aspects of staff compensation and ensure the payroll process is in compliance with the Cayman Islands Labour Law and CIMA’s policies and procedures; and
  • Assist with audits and budget preparation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Associate Degree in Accounting or Business, preferably working towards a Bachelor’s Degree; or
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration;
  • Three (3) years of relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Great Plains Dynamics, MS Excel, Word, and Quick Books.
