(Grand Cayman —16 November 2009) It has come to the attention of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) that an entity calling itself Offshore Banking International (OBI) has announced that it has established a branch office in the Cayman Islands to provide offshore banking and related financial services.

CIMA advises the public that this entity does not hold a licence from the Authority to conduct banking business in or from the Cayman Islands as is required by the Banking and Trust Companies Law.

Further, OBI is not licensed or registered by CIMA to conduct any other financial services business regulated in the Cayman Islands.
