Reporting to Senior Analyst (Supervision) of the AMLD, the Analyst is responsible for assisting with a full range of supervisory and monitoring functions for an assigned portfolio of licensees and registrants. In addition, the Analyst will also assist with the research and analysis of AML/CFT matters to achieve the regulatory and supervisory goals and objectives of the AMLD and of CIMA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
• Assist with the monitoring and reviewing ML/TF/PF risk profiles of regulated entities;
• Assist in coordinating and conducting AML/CFT/CPF on-site/off-site examinations and ongoingmonitoring of regulated entities;
• Assist divisional staff with the preparation and delivery of internal/external presentations, outreachand training on emerging ML/TF/PF trends, AML/CFT compliance obligations and other AML/CFTmatter;
• Assist with divisional projects to ensure that regulatory and supervisory practices are aligned withrelevant international standards and best practices;
• Research and analyze international standards to assist in developing or amending CIMA’s AML/CFTregulatory/supervisory framework, including regulatory instruments;
• Assist in conducting research and draft responses relating to requests for information from overseasregulatory authorities and international organizations, including surveys;
• Assist in identifying, tracking and monitoring possible trends as they relate to ML/TF/PF risks andcompliance history of regulated entities and industry sectors; and• Assist with the collection, compilation and analysis of AML/CFT relevant reports or data received fromregulated entities.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution – in Finance, Law or Accounting; and two-threeyears’ experience in a relevant position within a financial service provider or in the public sector;
• Experience in an audit firm, in internal audit, AML/CFT compliance or AML/CFT risk management rolewith a financial service provider, or supervisory authority would be an asset;
• General knowledge of the Cayman Islands AML/CFT/CPF framework and encompassing legislation, inparticular the Proceeds of Crime Act & Regulations;
• General understanding of AML/CFT international standards and best practices;
• General awareness of the Cayman Islands (or similar) regulatory framework and supervisorytechniques;
• Proven research and analytical skills, and ability to deliver outputs within established timeframes;
• Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills; and
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
