Reporting to the Senior Analyst, the Analyst performs functions relating to the various processes of
the Division (outlined below) and monitors an assigned portfolio of licensees and registrants on an
off-site basis, as well as participates in risk-based on-site inspections. [At the Analyst II level, with the
more complex tasks forming a greater portion of the assigned portfolio, there is a higher level of analysis
and decision-making expected].
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
• Process entities terminating/de-registering and completes monthly follow-ups with licensees or
registrants under termination or termination;
• Respond to and process Overseas Regulatory Authority requests and industry queries in regard to
licensees and registrants;
• Respond to and process requests relating to Directors’ changes, updates and surrender/
de-registration of registration;
• Prepare relevant pre-meeting notes/data for Senior Management, and participate and take concise
minutes in meetings with licensees/registrants/other industry participants;
• Conduct a timely analysis of annual returns and financial statements, and reviews and processes
audit extension/waiver/exemption requests for licensees in accordance with the Securities
Investment Business Act (2020 Revision);
• Prepare Chronologies on problem entities that will be closely monitored on the Division’s Watchlist
or the Critical Entities Watch list;
• Assess and risk-rate problem funds in accordance with CIMA’s internal risk weighting criteria;
• Prepare Enforcement Memos to the Legal and/or Compliance Divisions recommending regulatory
action for problem funds that are of material concern and have severe regulatory breaches;
• Effectively manage the pre and post inspection process;
• Draft pre-inspection and inspection reports to determine the inspection scope and outline findings,
requirements, and recommendations; and
• Participate in the file assessment and annual risk analysis of licensees or registrants.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Direct experience from a regulatory environment, particularly in funds/securities would be
beneficial;
• A securities investment business or professional designation such as ACCA, CPA, CFA, CFE, LLB would
be beneficial;
• General knowledge of auditing and accounting principles and ability to analyze the implications of
financial statements as they relate to fund administrators and securities companies;
• Knowledge of current international regulatory practices;
• An advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel, Word
and PowerPoint being required;
• Analytical, organizational, research, presentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently;
and
• Knowledge of the Securities Investment Business Act (2020 Revision), regulations, relevant rules,
guidance, policies and procedures relating to the supervision of securities investment businesses
would be highly advantageous or beneficial.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Analyst I
• A Bachelor’s degree in a finance related field;
• Three years, in the absence of a degree, of relevant and related experience in the finance, financial
accounting, auditing, or funds/securities industry;
Salary Scale: $44,057 - $55,117
Analyst II
• A Bachelor’s degree in a finance related field;
• Five years of relevant and related experience in the finance, financial accounting, auditing, or funds/
securities industry;
Salary Scale: $63,412 - $80,003
