Beware of Phishing Emails Falsely Claiming to be from CIMA

General Public Notices
Date: Wed, 27 August 2025

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA”) is aware of various phishing scams in which fraudulent emails are being circulated, falsely claiming to be from CIMA staff.

Please note that all legitimate CIMA email addresses end with @cima.ky. Any email using a different domain is fraudulent and should not be trusted.

Recipients should not click on links, open attachments, or respond to these suspicious emails. For clarity, CIMA does not issue Anti-Money Laundering certificates, nor will CIMA officials request sensitive information via email without secure verification. If you receive such a request, do not respond. Always confirm through official CIMA channels first.

While CIMA’s official address is 205 Elgin Avenue, George Town, Pavilion East, Cricket Square, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, this address is also being misused in these scams.

CIMA is actively investigating the matter and confirms that these fraudulent messages did not originate from its network..

We urge the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious emails of this nature to abuse@cima.ky.
