CIMA Awards Scholarship to Two Young Caymanians

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA” or “the Authority”) is proud to announce the recipients of this year’s Thomas Jefferson Memorial Scholarship, Juan Pablo Valerio II and Aniah Jackson.

Mr. Valerio II will pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with Marketing at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He shared, “Receiving this scholarship is a testament to the power of patience, persistent effort, and building meaningful connections with intention. I’m grateful for the support CIMA has offered me and look forward to contributing in ways that reflect the values behind this scholarship.” Mr. Valerio is also a former intern at CIMA and currently serves as a Public Relations Assistant until he departs for his studies.

Ms. Jackson has been accepted to the University of the West of England in Bristol, United Kingdom, where she will study Business Management and Economics. She said, “I am truly grateful for this scholarship opportunity, which allows me to continue pursuing my passion for business and economics while working towards making a positive difference in the world.”

CIMA Acting Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Bodden, remarked, “We are delighted to support these outstanding young Caymanians as they take bold steps toward their academic and professional futures. By investing in their education, we are nurturing the next generation of leaders who will strengthen our financial services industry and contribute meaningfully to the Cayman Islands community. Established in 2007 in memory of the late Honourable Thomas Jefferson, former Financial Secretary and Leader of Government Business, the scholarship programme reflects CIMA’s ongoing commitment to empowering Caymanian talent and fostering the development of the Islands’ financial services sector.
