Circulating Coins Set Booklet

To celebrate the establishment of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, a special $2 silver coin was issued featuring two Caymanian-built schooners the Arbutus I and the Goldfield—symbolizing the islands’ deep seafaring roots. The obverse bears a regal portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Cayman’s circulating coins pay tribute to local wildlife and maritime culture:

  • One Cent – Depicts a Cayman Thrush
  • Five Cents – Features a Crayfish
  • Ten Cents – Showcases the Hawksbill Turtle
  • Twenty-Five Cents – Displays a traditional Two-Masted Schooner

Each coin is a miniature tribute to Caymanian identity, capturing the spirit of the islands in finely detailed engravings.
