Deputy Chief Strategy Officer
The Office of the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA” or “the Authority”) includes members of senior leadership lead by the CEO is responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of the Authority. The Deputy Chief Strategy and Projects Officer (DCSPO) reports to the Chief Strategy and Projects Officer (CSPO) in the Office of the CEO. The DCSPO is responsible for providing support to the CSPO, with the Authority’s strategic planning and execution, coordinating and reporting on implementation efforts across the Authority in line with those strategic goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
- Assists the CSPO in developing the Authority’s strategic plan and appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) to facilitate measurement and assurance in the delivery of strategic objectives;
- Develop and implement a communications plan for sharing the strategic plan along with the established implementation timelines and periodic progress updates to senior management, staff and other relevant stakeholders;
- Participates in the strategy discussions with divisional Heads and assist with ensuring that their strategic priorities are well defined, KPIs and implementation timelines are clearly identified and are in line with CIMA’s strategic priorities addressing the relevant risks;
- Assist the CSPO with developing action plans for implementing strategic initiatives and monitoring the timely execution of the same including monitoring the associated risks and taking measures to address the same;
- Review and analyse the divisional strategic plan progress updates, reports the findings to the CSPO along with any challenges identified that are impacting the timely execution of the strategic priorities;
- Keep abreast of the emerging risks and issues, and propose recommendations to the CSPO for making appropriate amendments to the planned strategic initiatives;
- Assist the CSPO to oversee the implementation of project and change management frameworks and improving related processes;
- Lead/participate in strategy related projects and actively contribute insights and proposals for change to ensure continuous improvement of the Authority’s business processes;
- Participates in the recruitment and selection process assists with performance management of the positions reporting to the CSPO and DCSPO; and
- Interacts with external stakeholders such as external consultants, Government, industry in implementing and enhancing the Authority’s strategic planning and execution methods.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in relevant business fields such as Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field;
- A minimum of 9 years experience in corporate governance, risk management, strategic planning and management, financial analysis or project management including at least 5 years of experience in a senior management role;
- Strong background and experience in corporate governance, risk management, strategic planning and management, financial analysis or project management;
- Knowledge of the financial services regulatory environment and the financial services industry;
- Professional qualification in strategic management, project management, internal audit or risk management is desirable;
- Change Management certification is an asset;
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership and decision making skills;
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Strong knowledge and experience in project and change management methodologies and best practices;
- Demonstrated Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint and familiarity with using project management tools.
