Deputy Head – Network Operations


porting to the Head of Division, the Deputy Head (Network Operations) (“DHOD - NetOps”) is responsible for making and implementing recommendations on the strategic development of goals, objectives and programmes that proactively assist CIMA in achieving its mission and mandate. The DHOD - NetOps is accountable for identifying needs, determining solutions, and implementing systems that ensure the efficient and effective use of technology to direct, store and share information, and to maintain the integrity of the data networks for the Information Systems (IS) functions within CIMA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:

  • Manages the operations of the Network Operations team to ensure timely and accurate resolutions to end-user problems and that ongoing project work is in adherence to industry and CIMA best practices;
  • Ensures that safeguards, both physical and electronic, are in place to provide for the security and confidentiality of CIMA data and data systems;
  • Identifies the needs of CIMA and develops solutions and options that mitigate risks, create efficiency and enhance productivity and customer service;
  • Leads project teams both within IS and across CIMA and prepares project recommendations, documentation, RFPs, and tender documents for new initiatives;
  • Evaluates best practices and advances in technology, conducts relevant research on opportunities and challenges for CIMA’s systems and develops proposals for projects for approval and inclusion in the budget and ensures their implementation;   
  • Plans, directs, delegates / maintains all projects and assignments of the Division to ensure that they are carried out effectively and efficiently in accordance with the policies, procedures, and goals and objectives of the Division and CIMA;
  • Reviews, conducts, and approves the probationary assessments, annual performance appraisal, and individual learning and development plans in an effort to improve knowledge, skills, and career progress and determine divisional development needs;
  • Promptly addresses and appropriately reports staff performance issues and brings staff conflicts to a prompt resolution;
  • Represents CIMA in contract negotiations with external vendors, partners, and other agencies to ensure value for money and that CIMA’s best interests are addressed; and
  • Is a positive ambassador at conferences, meetings, and events and presents information, brings back ideas, and makes recommendations to improve the regulatory regime and operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, or related experience, in Information Systems (Technology);
  • Seven (7) years of experience as an IS Manager;
  • PMP certification or five years’ experience as a Project Management Leader;
  • Experience drafting and implementing strategic plans;
  • Network and technical skills relating to a large Microsoft-based multi-campus network; and
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and reporting systems.
  • The following current technology knowledge and skills are required:
  • iSCSI in a multi site environment;
  • VMware (in a multi site HA cluster environment);
  • Hyper-v (in a multi site HA cluster environment);
  • Firewall devices;
  • Networking Concepts, LAN and WAN including fiber and campus WIFI;
  • Internet Security and Network Security;
  • Active Directory;
  • Windows Server and Desktop Software;
  • SQL Server;
  • Business Analysis methodologies and structures; and
  • Microsoft Office tools.

Salary CI$139,590 - $183,831 per annum
