Electronic Submission of De-registration Applications for Regulated Mutual Funds

General Industry Notices
Date: Mon, 19 October 2020

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority is advising of an update to the process for submitting deregistration applications for regulated funds through the REEFS portal. The enhancement to the submission process will enable the de-registration application to be fully completed within REEFS1 .

Applications for de-registration are to be submitted using form TMF-147-22. Effective 1 November 2020, all new applications, as well as any outstanding documents necessary to complete the de-registration process are to be filed via the REEFS portal. Funds currently in LUT or LUL that are now ready to submit their final de-registration documents should contact the relevant team via terminations@cima.ky, outlining the name and registration number of the respective fund(s). The team will then ‘return’ the REEFS form to the industry submitter, via REEFS, and this will allow for the final document(s) to be sent.

Please also note that local cheques or escrow payments are the payment methods accepted for the relevant application fee(s)2 .

Should you require guidance in relation to using the form, or information about the deregistration process, please refer to the applicable User Guide.
