It has come to the attention of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority(“CIMA”) that there are fraudulent emails circulating to clients of certainCayman Islands banks purporting to be following an “edict” from CIMA with respect to “registration” of their accounts.

CIMA wishes to inform the public that it has not issued any edict that all foreign bank accounts should be fully registered with CIMA on or beforethe20th of September 2016, or any other specific date

The Authority reminds the public that, as clients of banks licensed and registered in the Cayman Islands, they should exercise caution and verifythe authenticity of any correspondence purporting to come fromtheir bank.
