Heather Smith is currently Head of AML Services (Cayman) at Walkers Corporate Limited. In this role, she provides outsourced anti-money laundering (AML) compliance services, tailored to clients' needs.  In addition, she provides support in defining and implementing strategies for the mitigation of key legal and operational risks.

Ms. Smith has over thirty-five years of experience in the financial services industry and possesses extensive knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory practices, and the requirements for the effective supervision and ongoing monitoring of entities pursuant to various regulatory acts, the Proceeds of Crime Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations.

Prior to joining Walkers, Ms. Smith served as Head of the Investments Supervision Division (ISD) of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), from June 2014 to July 2022. During her 25-year tenure at CIMA, she held a number of senior roles within the ISD, including Deputy Head of ISD and interim head of the Securities Supervision Division, which was established in 2017 for the supervision of securities investment business.

Ms. Smith also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the CICSA Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. from November 2022 to March 2026.

Ms. Smith holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics, as well as the Associate of the Securities Institute (ASI) and Certified Anti-money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) qualifications.
