Mrs. Gloria Glidden

Mrs. Gloria Glidden


Mrs. Gloria Glidden was appointed as the Head of Banking Supervision Division on 1 January 2017, subsequent to her role as Acting Head which was a position she held since October 2016. In her new role, she is responsible for overseeing the supervision of both international and commercial banks and trusts, the development bank, as well as money services businesses, building societies and cooperative societies in the Cayman Islands. 

She joined the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority on 1 October 2012 as Deputy Head, Investments and Securities Division, overseeing the licensing, regulation and supervision of mutual funds, mutual fund administrators and entities conducting securities and investment business under the Securities Investment Business Law and the Mutual Funds Law and ensured their compliance under the Money Laundering Regulations and the Proceeds of Crime Law. On 31 March 2014, she transitioned to the Banking Supervision Division where she previously served as Deputy Head. In this capacity, she was actively engaged in a range of domestic and international initiatives as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the division.  

Prior to joining the Authority, Mrs. Glidden was Chief Financial Officer of Admiral Administration Limited, an award-winning global hedge fund administrator, between 2007 and 2012. Previously, Mrs. Glidden was the President and Chief Operating Officer at TeleCayman. She held that post for a year and a half. Mrs. Glidden also held the post of Deputy Director of the Water Authority of the Cayman Islands for three years, after being promoted from Financial Controller, a position she had held for seven years. Gloria gained audit experience while working at PricewaterhouseCoopers (previously Price Waterhouse) for three years before joining the Water Authority.

Mrs. Glidden is a Certified Public Accountant with 18 years post-qualification experience in Finance and Accounting spanning various industries such as Auditing, Utilities, Telecommunications, and Financial Services with five and a half years in hedge fund administration. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from the University of Miami and qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 1995. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society and the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants.
