Sabrina Foster was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority on 7 February 2023.

With over 25 years of regulatory, governance and legal experience, she is the founder of Fifty Eleven Consulting Limited, offering outsourced general counsel and legal advisory services. 

During her career, Mrs. Foster served as a Partner with, Appleby, and Paget-Brown, where her key practice areas included hedge fund and private equity structuring and formation, commercial and private trust structuring, as well as advising on general corporate matters, corporate governance, financing and regulatory matters. Mrs. Foster also served as a professional independent director with the governance teams of Intertrust and Maples, where she served on a wide range of alternative investment funds, private equity funds and related structures. She then served as general counsel and director of Athena International Management Limited, a regulated company manager, providing directorship services to various types of funds and investment management companies domiciled in the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands and Delaware.

Mrs. Foster holds a Postgraduate Award in Business Administration with Distinction from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Law with Honours from the University of Liverpool. She completed her Professional Practice Course (Cayman Islands) with Queen's University Belfast and earned the Accredited Director designation from the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada.  Mrs. Foster was admitted as an attorney in the Cayman Islands in 1997.

In 2010 and 2011, Mrs. Foster was recognised by Legal 500 Caribbean for her work in investment funds and corporate services. She is a member of numerous associations, including the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association, American Bar Association, International Bar Association, 100 Women in Finance, Cayman Islands Directors Association and Chartered Governance Institute Canada.

She is a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands and has published several articles relating to financial services.
