New Top Promotions Confirmed at CIMA

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (Tuesday, 30 June 2020) The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA” or “the Authority”) is delighted to announce the recent top promotions of Ms. Dominique Lloyd, Mr. George Kamau and Mr. David Bennett.

Mr. David Bennett, who has over 20 years’ experience in the Information Technology field, was appointed as the Deputy Head of Information Systems (Development) in November 2019, having served as the Authority’s Systems Development Manager since 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with honours from the University of Portsmouth.

Effective 1 March 2020, Mr. George Kamau was confirmed as Deputy Head of the Insurance Supervision Division. He brings over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, the majority of which was spent at CIMA. He holds a first-class Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant.

With over 20 years’ experience in finance and accounting, Ms. Dominique Lloyd was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Currency Division on 2 March 2020. Ms. Lloyd first joined CIMA as a Currency Officer in 1997 and later climbed through the ranks to the post of Finance Manager, a position she held since 2010, subsequent to her new appointment.

Recognising their achievement, CIMA’s Deputy Managing Director - Operations, Mr. Patrick Bodden says, “I am extremely pleased to have Ms. Lloyd, Mr. Kamau and Mr. Bennett as part of the CIMA management team. They have all demonstrated exceptional knowledge and skill during their years of working with the Authority. They are rightfully deserving of their promotions and I have no doubt that they will continue to succeed in their new roles.”
