NOTICE is hereby given that the Russia, Crimea and Sevastopol (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 2014, SI 2014 No. 2919, was made on 5 th November, 2014, was laid before Parliament on 12th November, 2014 and came into force on 13th November, 2014.

The Russia, Crimea and Sevastopol (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 2014 extends to specified Overseas Territories, including the Cayman Islands, by virtue of Article 1(3) of the Order.

The Explanatory Note of the Russia, Crimea and Sevastopol (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 2014 is as follows:

EXPLANATORY NOTE 

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order makes further provision in specified Overseas Territories to implement sanctions imposed on Russia by EU Council Decision 2014/512/CFSP of 31st July 2014 (as amended by EU Council Decision 2014/659/CFSP of 8th September 2014). 

The Order imposes a ban on the supply of assistance related to the transfer of oil exploration technologies to Russia and makes provision for the Governor to license these activities in line with exemptions under the sanctions regime.
