Senior Analyst


Reporting to the Chief Analyst, the Senior Analyst is responsible for delivering on the key result areas set out below to satisfy the legislative requirements and achieve the goals and objectives of the Division and CIMA.  In addition, the Senior Analyst provides guidance and oversees the work of a team of Analysts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful post holder will:

  • Supervise the performance of due diligence and background checks to determine fitness and propriety;
  • Organize and keep the Division’s due diligence records up-to-date for easy file and record retrieval;
  • Provide ongoing coaching, technical advice, and guidance to assist Analysts in performing their duties optimally;
  • Review and supervise the work prepared by Analysts to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and guidelines;  
  • Assesses and progresses assigned non-compliant cases referred for enforcement action;
  • Identify breaches of the laws for each non-compliant entity, prepare accurate related correspondence and communicate with licensees/registrants or other pertinent parties in a prompt and professional manner;
  • Research, collect and manage information and documents pursuant to an Overseas Regulatory Authority request;
  • Investigate cases where an entity or natural person appears to be conducting regulated activity without the required licence or authorisation from the Authority; and
  • Analyse onward disclosures from the Financial Reporting Authority and prepare clear and concise memos to the applicable regulatory divisions with findings and recommendations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a finance related field; and five (5) years of experience, preferably within regulatory enforcement, insolvency, or fraud & forensic fields, with two (2) years of supervisory experience;
  • Sound knowledge of domestic and international supervisory frameworks, specifically relevant Cayman Islands legislation and auditing and accounting principles as they relate to financial institutions;
  • Sound knowledge of the Monetary Authority Act, Proceeds of Crime Act, Anti-Money Laundering Regulations, Regulatory Acts and regulations and relevant Rules, Statements of Guidance and policies relating to the supervision of entities and individuals;
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance research databases;
  • Specific analytical skills with specific experience analyzing the implications of financial statements; and
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Salary: CI$77,929 - $94,519 per annum
