The Queen's Silver Jubilee

To commemorate the historic 25th Anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, The Cayman Islands Currency Board issued a $25 silver and $100 gold coin bearing the Royal Coat of Arms.

Conveying centuries of glorious British tradition, the famed Royal Coat of Arms was approved by the British Government to appear on the coins. Bearing the original arms of England, Scotland and Ireland, the magnificent crest is enhanced by the motto of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, "Honi soit qui mal y pense", meaning evil to him who evil thinks, and the eloquent Royal Motto, "Dieu et mon Droit", meaning God and my right.

Beautifully symbolic of British Monarch, this prestigious Royal Coat of Arms is complemented on the obverse of the coins by the traditional Commonwealth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II created by Arnold Machin, Officer of the most excellent Order of the British Empire.
